This website was created by me and my wife, and inspired by our four year old son who absolutely loves New York City subway trains. One of his favorite ways to spend the day is to pick a random subway station on the map and ride the subway with us there.
It’s a great way to discover neighborhoods in New York City we might not normally travel to, but we always found ourselves asking "what’s within walking distance of this station? Good food? Playground? Bathroom?"
We thought others would want to know what’s great along subway stops in neighborhoods they’re not familiar with, from native New Yorkers to the 47 million foreign and American tourists who visit NYC each year. For this reason, we made sure to integrate language translation features representing the countries that most frequently visit NYC.
We have plans to expand this trip planning website to include train systems worldwide. We’ll be rolling out in Tokyo, Chicago, London, Philadelphia and other cities in just a few short months.
